Nutrition Biochemistry

It covers basic-experimental research and presents an interface with clinical nutrition, food science and epidemiology, developing studies that allow a better understanding of the biomolecular mechanisms involved in the etiology of chronic noncommunicable diseases (CNCD).

Advisors:

Food Science and Technology

It presents the focus on nutrients and non-nutrients present in foods and products and their associations with the reduction of the risk of developing CNCD, and develops specific formulations and products for different individuals, whether healthy, sick or athletes.

Advisors:

Nutritional Epidemiology

It is dedicated to investigate the health and nutritional problems that have been recognized as main causes of death in the population and that have diet and nutritional status among its etiological factors, in cross-sectional, longitudinal and intervention studies, with regional and national coverage in children, adolescents, adults and pregnant women.

Advisors:

Micronutrients

Its objective is to evaluate the nutritional status of micronutrients and their association with non-transmissible infectious and chronic processes in different population segments.
